Fall and winter update

Dear Members,

Hope everyone is well and had a good Christmas and new Years. As of the mid point of February the golf course had faired well and as I write this, we are looking good for the upcoming season. The staff has been hard at this off-season getting through quite a few projects.

Fall renovations

The greens were deep aerified and then had sand injected into them. All fairways and tees we deep aerified.

Kerbs on 11

We have installed kerbs along the path on 11 and will keep adding these on certain tee as time goes on.

Short game area

The drain has been covered to make the area look better and we have added some car parks. We will paint the parking lines in the spring.

Bunker Renovation

The big project has obviously been the renovation of the bunkers. We have started all the greenside bunkers this fall and were able to dig out all the old material, reconstruct the new edge, backfill the edge and install the new irrigation before we were frozen out in December. In the spring when the weather permits, we will turf the bunkers, add the bunker liner (capillary concrete) and then add the new sand. We hope to finish these works before we open but this is also reliant on the weather. The idea is we will then move onto the fairway bunkers at the end of this season.

Building of recycling wash area

We are in the middle of building our new machine-washing area and extending the fence around the shed to give us more space and include the wash area in the fence. The new Waste 2 Water station will recycle all of the washing water and filter out any contaminants making it safe for the environment.

Kind Regards,
Craig
